About this Event
What makes home "home" — even if you're far away from it?
Join us on Saturday, October 17 at Filmtheater Colosseum for a special night of short documentaries exploring the themes of belonging, identity, and displacement.
Doors open at 6pm for complimentary falafel, refreshments, and mingling. Stick around after the screening for a Q&A with the filmmakers!
Lineup:
- Jacob's House, directed by Lucas Kane
- Existimos en la Memoria, directed by Darian Woehr
- Placekeepers, directed by Robert Hope
- The Cat Man Eshete, directed by Laura Checkoway
From an exploration of what defines a house, to rebuilding visions of home through memory, to a remote Georgian community grappling with their place in the world, and an Ethiopian refugee who's a devoted caretaker of a feral cat colony in New York City, these true stories offer a moving look at home and belonging.
