A new gallery is going up in CRAFT featuring the work of Sheree Brand, and perfect timing too - on International Women's Day! We will be celebrating with refreshments (including pastries from Executive Chef Kathleen Faliski), discussion about women in the art world with Sheree Brand and friends, and a discount code for 15% off admission to one of CRAFT's Women in Art History workshops for anyone who attends. We will also have volunteers from Abigail Spanberger's campaign on-site to collect signatures to get her name on the ballot to run to become Virginia's first female governor (not an endorsement, 40k signatures are required to allow a candidate to be listed on the ballot). Please join us to support local art/artists and observe IWD in a meaningful way!
Sheree Brand is a heart-centric creative living in the Washington DC Metro Area. She began drawing at a young age and after pursuing a degree in biology and a career in higher education, realized that art was truly where her heart was. When she’s not working or drawing, Sheree is typically reading, going to the movies, listening to music/true crime podcasts, daydreaming, or spending time with friends and family. When it comes to her art, Sheree is inspired by the female spirit and believes nothing is more beautiful than a woman simply existing. She creates art that highlights and elevates women of color, friendship, and women at rest.
