Call for Volunteers: New Bruin Send Off

Hey Bruins (and Bruin families) — we need you. 💙✨

The OC Bruins New Bruin Send-Off is one of the first real UCLA moments incoming students and their families get to experience — and we want to make it count.

We're looking for students, young alumni and parents who want to help plan and host this year's Send-Off on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Here's why your perspective matters:

1. 📚 If you're a current student - you know what UCLA is actually like right now. The hidden gems, the adjustment curve, the things nobody tells you before move-in. Share that.
2. 🎓 If you're a young alum - you've got the gift of hindsight. What would you have wanted to hear before freshman year? How has being a Bruin followed you into life after graduation?
3. 💛 If you're a parent - you've been through the transition. New Bruin families are looking for exactly the kind of reassurance and real talk that only comes from someone who gets it.

Volunteers help with everything from small-group conversations and student panels to check-in, photos 📸, and day-of energy. Whatever you bring, we'll find the right spot for you. 🙌

Time commitment: One to two planning meetings before Aug. 29, plus day-of support.

This is a low-lift, high-impact way to give back to the Bruin community - and to help the newest OC Bruins start their UCLA story on the right foot. 🐻💙💛
