CALL FOR ART: ANIMALS
for the May exhibit at HIVE artspace in York, PA.
Submission Period: April 1 through April 15 (by midnight).
Exhibit dates: May 1-30, 2026.
For our May exhibit we are seeking artworks featuring creatures of the animal kingdom - from the tiniest ladybug to the biggest elephant and everything in-between - as the main focus of the artwork or just a primary element. Not sure if your idea fits? Just e-mail us! Drawings, paintings, block prints, sculptures, air-dry clay, polymer clay, assemblage, 3-d printing, fiber art, ceramics, collage, photography, stained glass... all mediums are welcome for submission!
THIS EXHIBIT HELPS ANIMALS! We will be donating a portion of the sales from this exhibit to Animal Advocates of So Central PA to help them continue their work helping animals! If you want to help animals too, we invite you to donate a portion of your sales to help us make a bigger impact for the animals. You can let us know in your submission. (Not required to participate.)

There is no fee to submit artwork for consideration. Submitting artwork does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit.

SUBMISSION NOTES:
• Up to 3 submissions allowed. See important note below regarding submission images.
• There is no fee to submit, but there is a $5 exhibit fee for accepted artists ($5 total regardless of number of artworks accepted.)
• Gallery Commission is 35% on artworks sold.
• Final artwork must be ready-to-hang/display, we use single nail hanging on most works (sawtooth hangers ok, command strips are not).

TO SUBMIT (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY):
Please send ONE E-MAIL with subject line ANIMALS2026 to [email protected] with **ALL** of the following items:
• Up to 3 submissions in jpeg or png format no larger than 3MB each. Images must clearly represent the work, as these images will be used in the accompanying on-line gallery. Watch for glare / background clutter, photographing them against a white or solid colored wall is best for our use. Indirect natural light will give you the truest colors and nicest lighting for your images. Please get them as "square" in the frame as possible.
• Tag info for each submission:
- Title
- Your name (City, State)
- Medium
- Size unframed / size framed (if applicable)
- Price
- Percentage for donation: 0% - 100%.
(Donation is not required to participate in the exhibit.)
• Any time constraints you may have, i.e. shipping, printing, or framing time needed.
• Link to more of your artwork on-line (optional, but highly recommended).

SPECIAL EVENT! MAY 1 is GIVE LOCAL YORK, York's biggest day of giving, and we will be hosting Animal Advocates of South Central PA at HIVE artspace! They draw a big crowd, and have lots of give-aways, free vegan food, do a live podcast on-site, and sometimes bring an Animal Ambassador! Be sure to stop out in the back patio to say hi & grab some goodies if you come for First Friday in May!
