About this Event
CalGrows, California's Department of Aging, and Kinary, a new application designed to support caregivers, are proud to present a FREE Direct Care Worker Training Program for California residents.
This program is designed for Direct Care Workers who are actively caring for a client who is aging, has a disability, or a chronic health issue. Our self-paced online course will empower Direct Care Workers with the skills and tools to be better prepared for the role of caregiving.
The "Stroke Types & Caring for Survivors" course modules can be completed at your own pace and is a continuation of the course "California Direct Care Worker Training: Stroke Types & Caring for Survivors" (learners are highly encouraged to complete "Stroke Types & Caring for Survivors" before starting "Stroke Survivor Care"). This course covers the following topics:
Types of Strokes
Stroke Causes
Prevention and Care
Brain Health
HIPAA
How to Detect
Report and Prevent Abuse
Neglect
Communication Skills
Assistance with Ambulation
Bedbound Senior Care and Repositioning
Infection Control
Personal Care, Bathing, Basic Hygiene, and Toileting
This course is for Direct Care Workers based in California only.
