About this Event
This event will feature new IGS Poll data and a panel of experts on the many challenges facing democracy in California in the 2020s. With rising polarization nationally, the president’s deployment of the National Guard to Los Angeles, ICE raids across the state, and recent challenges to voting rights, do the state’s voters believe democracy is in crisis? What reforms would voters like to see in order to have greater trust in our political institutions? What do voters think about the upcoming referendum on redistricting?
Join us at the Institute of Governmental Studies Library on Tuesday, September 16th at 4:00pm for a presentation on the latest round of Berkeley IGS Poll data, conducted in partnership with the Evelyn and Walter Haas Jr. Fund, followed by a moderated discussion on the results and the impacts it will have on the upcoming referendum.
