Calico House - Introduction to Blending Theory

This is a free event that takes place at the Houston Whiskey Social on November 15th and is open to the first 30 attendees who reserve. You MUST have a Whiskey Social ticket already. Please eat something and drink plenty of water beforehand.

Join Will Schragis, career whiskey maker and founder of Calico House Bottling Co., in a tasting and discussion on whiskey blending theory. Taste through sample components and finished whiskeys and discuss structure, viability, and flavor building.

Designing whiskeys is about passion, but it is also about practicality, defining your preferences, and making the most of the ingredients you have to work with. Will, ever-the-whiskey-nerd will school us on the importance of analysis and layering in order to make things that are greater than the sum of their parts and walk us through his process when he sits down to blend something special.
