Calibrating Connection: A Dialogic Interactive on Black Motherhood

Art + Practice will host an evening of interactive, breakout group dialogs on the topic of Black motherhood, incorporating the multitude of themes that inform the works on view with those that emerged throughout its public programs. Utilizing the exhibition space as an inspirational platform for deep reflection, this event will be facilitated by Calibrate, a local nonprofit organization that fosters dynamic and experiential, intergenerational community-centered engagement. Through the practice of Connections, a data-driven, trauma-informed mental health, and wellness activity that promotes resiliency skills, healing, unity, and community, Calibrate’s professionally trained team will demonstrate the power of speaking and listening from the heart, holding space for the uniqueness of Black motherhood, and honoring the collective wisdom of Black women’s voices.
