About this Event

Imagine a glass of drinking water—each drop from our rivers, flowing through pipes, storage, and pumps—carefully managed by dedicated City staff. For 125 years, Calgary’s water system has evolved from untreated river draws to the engineered reliability of the Glenmore Dam. Built in the 1930s to address growing health and supply needs, it still serves that purpose today. Hugh Costello, P.Eng.  blends historical insight and personal stories that reflect our city’s enduring relationship with water.
