ABOUT CALAMITY JANE & WILD BILL
Calamity Jane & Wild Bill (CJ&WB) are a synth-based experimental pop band, consisting of Ian Memgard and Estrid Nyman, based in Berlin and Malmö. Their sound draws on everything from obscure 80s wave music, to DIY soundcloud producers of the 2010's, to Orthodox Christian chants and lush synth-pop productions. With their live performances, they bring a punky, chaotic energy that engages the audience and makes every show memorable. CJ&WB have built a cult following with their catchy songwriting and idiosyncratic, often strange or humorous lyrical approach. Since the formation of the band in 2016, they have released three full-length albums, four EPs, and several singles, all self-produced.
