Calling all cake & book lovers-- A Spooktacular gathering of the very two things we love is coming to the Mile Square! Join Shakera Rosa, aka Dessert Pixie, for a whimsical, yet eerie evening of Cakes & Haunted Pages!- A Halloween Cake Picnic!
Hosted at the most magical bookstore in Ho-BOO-ken, Symposia, this one-of-a-kind indoor picnic invites guests to gather, mingle, and sample from what may be the largest cake table Hoboken has ever seen. Bring your own cake creation—homemade or store-bought—and trade slices with fellow dessert lovers while enjoying a charming, photo-worthy setting. Whether you're a passionate baker or simply love a good slice of cake, this spooktacular social event is the perfect opportunity to meet new people, share treats, explore a magical book collection, and indulge in a joyful evening together. ADULTS ONLY EVENT!
What to Expect:
-A curated cake table with dozens of cakes to sample.
-A personal pastry box to take cake home
-A whimsical halloween indoor picnic setting and photo station. Raffles, mingling, and sweet surprises.
-Savory charcuterie & bites!
-Optional exploration of the Symposia Bookstore Collection.

Ticket Information:
$50 per person (ticket required) Includes event entry, cake tastings, and a pastry box to take home cake. Limited to 20 guests for an intimate experience.
Cake Participation: No Cake, No Entry — even with a ticket! Each guest must bring one whole cake to share. Cakes can be homemade or store-bought—get creative! Elegant, funny, sentimental, gothic, spooky, or chaotic cakes are all welcome.
Additional Details: BYOB (beverages welcome)
Dress Code: Cake Lore, Spooky/Gothic Elegance, Masquerade, Whimsical, or costumes!
Welcome to CAKES & PAGES! Joining this event is completely voluntary and at your own risk. By grabbing a ticket, you agree that the organizers, and awesome volunteers aren't liable for any personal injury, lost items, or food-related illnesses/allergies. Upon arrival, all attendees will be given a card to write a description of their cake. It will be placed in front of the cake so all attendees can identify each one. We want everyone to have a sweet time, so please look out for yourself and your belongings as you enjoy the treats and venue!
