Cake Picnic, Book Swap, and Story Time
About this Event
This is a free community event open to book lovers and cake lovers of all ages.
What's a Cake Picnic?
Inspired by the Cake Picnic cookbook, a cake picnic is the opportunity to gather with community to celebrate the joy of cake just because we can. We love whimsy! Bake or buy your favorite cake to share with new friends. Plates, forks, and napkins will be provided. Coffee and milk will be available to purchase from the Mama Mia coffee cart.
What's a Book Swap?
A book swap is the chance to refresh your home library without spending money. Bring up to 10 books in good condition from any genre to swap, peruse books brought by our neighbors, and take home up to 10 new-to-you books. All book genres for readers of all ages are welcome. Any books remaining after the swap will be donated to Friends of the Redondo Beach Public Library.
Story Time
We will be joined by three wonderful local authors who will be reading their books:
- Paula Swearingen, Brown Skin, Curly Girl Becomes a Marine Biologist
- G.D. Griffiths, Olly's Journey and The Foopy Song
- Ashley Mills-Monaghan, A Little Goes a Long Way
