Join us for a day presented and hosted by Santa Clara University's SWE (Society of Women Engineers) student group on the SCU campus.Cadette's will earn the Coding for Good badge 1 - Coding Basics and begin the next badge in the series - Digital Game Design badge 2.
This event will include an undergrad student panel with female students studying related STEM fields and a campus tour open to both students and parents.
Please Note: Cadettes will need to bring a laptop. We will be working with Raspberry Pi Pico's and/or Micro:Bits and need access to the corresponding sites/software as needed. Parents will receive instructions in advance of any software to download or sites to book mark.
Each troop must have one registered adult Troop Chaperone present at all times. Chaperones will rotate with the girls and must bring and maintain Annual Permission and Health Forms.
Cost: $20 per Cadette
Bring: Laptop, lunch, snacks and water bottle
Fee Includes: In-person instruction, all materials and the earned Coding for Good badge.
Thanks to a generous grant from the Broadcom Foundation, participants will be able to take home their coding devices to continue their coding journey and have an opportunity to join a coding club this fall!
Payment Plan Option: An initial payment of 10% will be due at time of registration. This is recommended if you are applying for Financial Aid (see below). Payment in full will be due 30 days prior to the activity start date.
Financial Assistance: Financial Aid is available to GSNorCal youth for this program by filling out and submitting the Financial Aid Application. Please allow 5-7 business days for processing. You will need to register with a Payment Plan (see above) in order to secure your spot in the program. If this is a barrier and you cannot submit registration with a payment plan, please email us at [email protected] as soon as possible. Please note this may result in losing your secured space within the program.
