The cacao used in this ceremony is El Grano de Oro—“The Golden Seed”—grown in the historic cacao region of Mihuatalán, Tabasco, Mexico, and cultivated with great respect for the Yokot’an Mayan worldview. For more than 11 generations, this cacao has been planted, prayed over, sung to, and harvested in alignment with ancestral traditions.
