The ninth annual Purcellville Cabin Fever Film Festival will be held Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31 at the Franklin Park Visual and Performing Arts Center featuring 12 films created by Loudoun County residents or filmmakers with strong ties to Loudoun County. The 2026 festival theme is “Independence” which honors the country’s 250th anniversary of signing the Declaration of Independence. Awards will be presented in the following categories: Best in Theme, Festival Favorite, and Most Likely to Break Cabin Fever with each winner receiving $500 and a gift hand-crafted by a local artist. Festival organizers are thrilled to partner with Loudoun VA250 which will award the prize for Best in Theme, “Independence.” There is an additional award for the “Best Friend to Nature” theme, sponsored by the Friends of Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve. Four of the films will be shown Friday, January 30 starting at 7 p.m., followed by a small reception. On Saturday, January 31 eight films will be shown starting at 10 a.m. with an awards presentation following the final screening.
The slate of films is provided below. Please note that some of the films have mature content and may not be appropriate for young viewers.
Friday, January 30 Program
Films that will be shown on Friday January 30 relate to the theme “Best Friend to Nature.” The prize for the best film in this theme will be decided and awarded by the Friends of Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve.

Saturday, January 31 Program
Many of the films that will be shown on Saturday relate to the main theme of Independence. These independent film makers have a variety of different interpretations of the theme, and some may surprise you!
