Farm-to-Fork Cooking Workshop: Cabbage to Sauerkraut
Step into our outdoor kitchen at Park Avenue Farm (945 Park Avenue, Nanaimo) and discover the journey from garden to table! In this hands-on workshop, participants will start by harvesting fresh cabbage straight from our farm. Then, in our outdoor kitchen, we will learn the traditional art of making sauerkraut, chopping, salting, and fermenting our cabbage while exploring the science and nutrition behind fermentation.
Participants will gain practical cooking skills, understand where our food comes from, and experience the satisfaction of creating something healthy and delicious from scratch. This fun and educational workshop connects gardening, cooking, and science, showing that healthy eating can be creative, tasty, and deeply rewarding!
Reminder: Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated while working in the garden and kitchen.
