"The Immortal Lincoln: A story of loss, struggle and driving until the wheels come off" is a documentary short (39 mins) that focuses on what happened to one man who lost his fourth-generation family business and the role Ford factory workers played in keeping him focused on moving forward instead of dwelling on the past.
This film was inspired by a news story in The Detroit Free Press that was widely distributed on the USA Today Network about Douglas Burns of Carroll, Iowa. It's a powerful narrative that touches on depression and finding the strength to go on.
Join the Port Huron Museums for a screening of the documentary short followed by a discussion with C. John Anter and his film team.

C. John Anter, a graduate of Port Huron Central High School and a master electrician who belongs to IBEW Local 58 in Detroit, is the director of the film. He is a third generation resident of Port Huron. Anter, a licensed drone pilot, is also a freelance photographer for the USA Today Network. After he finished working on the Gordie Howe Bridge project, he attended documentary film classes at the Okoboji Writers' and Songwriters' Retreat in Iowa. That's what inspired this project. Subjects in the film include Ford executives and factory workers.
