A new film series showcasing some of the Greatest Journalism Films in History, with commentary by some of the biggest names in journalism!
This month, we present She Said, the2022 American drama film directed by Maria Schrader and written by Rebecca Lenkiewicz, based on the 2019 book by the reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. The film stars Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan as Twohey and Kantor, respectively, and follows their New York Times investigation that exposed Harvey Weinstein's history of abuse and sexual misconduct against women. The film also stars Patricia Clarkson, Jennifer Ehle, Samantha Morton, and Andre Braugher, in his final film role before his death in 2023. Ashley Judd appears as herself.
There will be a Q&A and reception after the screening. Special Guest: Megan Twohey. Twohey and Jodi Kantor exposed a string of sexual abuse allegations against Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein, reporting that helped ignite the #metoo movement. Twohey is portrayed by Carey Mulligan in the film
