Bye Bye Bridge Wine Barrel Race
BYOB – Bring Your Own Barrel! ( and beverages)
1947 was the first wine barrel paddling race under Healdsburg's historic railroad bridge. You're invited to join the last one before demolition begins.
Prizes will be for the fastest paddlers and the most creative or beautiful barrels.
A trophy will go to the winery with the fastest paddling team!
Anchored barrels will be available for photos.
Racers are encouraged to BYOB—Bring Your Own Barrel!
Don't have one? A limited number of rented barrels may be available at the event.

📋 Race Rules
- Barrels must be traditional wooden wine barrels—no plastic or alternative materials allowed
- No motors or mechanical propulsion of any kind are permitted
- Team competitions are limited to a maximum of 6 people and 6 barrels per team
- All participants must follow event safety guidelines and instructions from race officials
This event celebrates Healdsburg's long tradition of river recreation and the public’s right to protect its drinking water during the bridge replacement project.
Come celebrate our river, our history, and one last look at a bridge that has been part of Healdsburg's landscape since 1921.
