The Buy Local Challenge Celebration is Back!
Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating Maryland's vibrant farms, talented producers, exquisite arts, and unique crafts! This family-friendly event promises fun for all ages at the Buy Local Challenge Celebration Event.
Date: Monday, July 27, 2026 Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM EDT Location: Lyon Family Farms, 39010 Lyon Lane, Mechanicsville, MD 20659, St. Mary's County, Maryland (Rain or Shine!)
The Buy Local Celebration will transform into a lively farmers market, featuring 30+ vendors offering a true taste of Maryland's summer bounty. Meet and shop directly with the makers and producers of:
- Farm-Raised Delights: Meats, dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables, and beautiful flowers.
- Local Specialties: Maryland oysters, baked goods, artisanal jams and pickles, and golden honey.
- Handcrafted Goods: Farm-made soaps, delightful scents, and a diverse array of local arts and crafts.
- Artisanal Beverages: Sip and savor selections from Maryland's finest wineries, distilleries, and breweries.
Admission: Tickets are $5 per person. Kids aged 6 and under are free! Purchase your tickets online until 4:00 PM on Monday, July 27th.
Your Ticket Includes:
- Shopping Access: Browse and purchase from up to 35+ local farms, food producers, artisanal beverage makers, and artisans.
- Complimentary Insulated Shopping Tote: (For the first 900 paid ticket holders, ages 7 and up) Keep your fresh purchases cool with ice provided!

- Carriage Rides: Experience magnificent carriage rides with the Suttler Post Farm Clydesdales
- Pony Rides: Kids can enjoy adorable pony rides with 'Mary's Go Round'
- Oyster Tasting: One adult complimentary oyster tasting (with paid ticket while supplies last).
- Free Raffle: Enter to win generously donated vendor prizes (with paid ticket, must be present to win!).
Please Note: Food, drinks, and alcoholic beverages are not included with admission. We encourage you to support our wonderful vendors and food trucks!

Is the event rain or shine? Yes, the event will be held rain or shine.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? There is a grass parking lot on-site, which is ADA accessible.
Are restrooms available? Yes, restrooms are available on-site and are ADA accessible.
Can I bring items into the event? Strollers and "little red wagons" are welcome! Picnic blankets and lawn chairs are not encouraged due to limited space. Outside food and alcohol are not permitted.
Are pets allowed? Only service animals are permitted.
Do I have to bring my ticket to the event? Yes, a printed ticket or email confirmation on your phone will be accepted. We will scan your digital QR code.
