GreenStraw is back and this time we brought a microphone.

Butts, Brushes & Ballads is the second edition of our (ART) ASH ATTACK series — an evening of live karaoke and ash painting at Crimson Cup, Mumatpura. 

Same idea as before: the medium is cigarette ash, collected and repurposed into something worth looking at. New addition: you can also sing while your paint dries!

No art experience needed. No vocal talent required. Just show up.

What's happening:

Paint with cigarette ash at your own pace while karaoke plays live around you. Pick up Drag&Drop merch on your way out. If you have cigarette butts to bring in, we'll take them — every one goes directly into our collection and recycling system.

Around the space you'll find facts about what's actually inside a cigarette filter and what GreenStraw is building to address it. The education is there if you want it. The karaoke is mandatory.

Why GreenStraw:

The GreenStraw foundation has launched Drag&Drop — a social and behavioural change campaign working on cigarette butt collection and recycling in Gujarat. Cigarette butts are the most littered object on earth — and almost nobody knows the filter is plastic, not cotton. We're building collection infrastructure at the places where smoking actually happens and connecting it to companies that recycle it into new materials.

*Butts, Brushes & Ballads* is our way of making that conversation feel less like a lecture and more like a Saturday evening.
