Gate opens 7pm for 7.30 Music Start.Butter Wouldn't Melt hit Number 3 on the Aotearoa Music Charts with their album Where The Roots Grow Deep (mid August '25). Finalists for the 2023 Best Folk Artist Tūī | Te Kaipuoro Taketake Toa with their first album 1931, Butter Wouldn’t Melt has made a name for themselves around Aotearoa, headlining Folk Festivals from Auckland to Dunedin. Their blend of country, Americana, bluegrass, and folk influences with a distinctly New Zealand flavour, promises audiences an evocative performance defined by their poetic lyricism, powerful harmonies and thought provoking stories. The band includes Andrea Reid (Vocals and rhythm guitar), Nick Burfield (Vocals and lead guitar), Cara Brasted (Fiddle and vocals),and Marz Connelly (Double bass and vocals). On the back of the success of their first Album, Butter Wouldn’t Melt got to work in the studio and in 2025 released Where The Roots Grow Deep, an ode to all the music that brought them together in the first place. This album turned out to be the first chapter in a two-part album journey and is set to be followed by Beneath The Stars Above in 2026. Together, these albums form a story in contrast—two sides of the same mountain, two worlds intertwined: one bathed in light, the other steeped in shadow. Both records showcase Butter Wouldn’t Melt’s signature local storytelling and rich harmonies, weaving contemporary folk, country, bluegrass, and Americana into a sound that is as timeless as it is deeply personal. Expect these two worlds to collide brilliantly in this performance.
