❕Back to Berlin for one day Butoh practice with Marek Jason Isleib at Tanzfabrik!
🔻The previous workshop was very intense, the group working with high quality, big concentration and a strong presence from the participants. We are eager to continue this research, and for this purpose, Marek will return to Berlin next month to share his practice and unique method.
👉🏻“For my new visit to Berlin, I would like to offer my self-developed (Butoh) tools, which can be used for performance art and/or for personal development. At my last workshop in Berlin we focussed on the physical reality in relation to our environment, in this workshop I propose to take a deeper look at our own physical-human reality, as well as that of animals and plants.
There is no requirement to have attended previous workshops of mine in order to benefit from this work. Any kind of performing artists like actors, movers, dancers, singers, circus-artists as well as people without any previous background will profit from this work. The exercises and “games” that I offer can be adapted to any level of experience. The only requirement is to present yourself with an open heart and an open attitude in order to get the most out of this work.
We will work for 7 hours in total (I prefer to call it: play), beginning for example with a warm-up that is loosely based on Body-Weather including movements that aim to challenge and develop our rhythm and coordination. We will also often work with a partner or in a group. There will be a break of about up to 1 hour in between. More towards the second part of the day we will apply our acquired experiences in ‘situations’ (improvisations) in solo and group settings. The work can be as physically challenging as you prefer, from very light to very challenging, just the way how you prefer.” Marek J.Isleib
