The high-energy, percussion-driven sounds of Puerto Rican are alive and well in Maryland thanks to Los Hijo ‘e Plena, the performance ensemble of Cultura Plenera, a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading awareness of these distinctive musical traditions.
