The 8th Annual Turkey Day 5K is held in Garner’s White Deer and Lake Benson Parks. A course map will be available before race day.
The event is very family friendly and well socialized dogs are welcome on a 6’ or shorter leash. (no retractable leashes)

ABOUT FREEDOM RIDE RESCUE:
We are a volunteer-led and foster-based rescue that gives dogs freedom rides from overcrowded, high-K*ll shelters all across the state to safe and supportive foster homes across the Triangle until they are adopted. Volunteers handle all the paperwork, transport, care, logistics, and so on. Fosters review applications, arrange meet and greets with potential adopters, and choose the best home for the dog based on their time together. Every aspect of the process has the best interest of the dog in mind. Since Freedom Ride Rescue was started, it has given freedom rides to over 3,100 dogs.
