Shekinah King, a heartfelt local singer-songwriter, weaves melodies with a spirit of compassion. Her latest album, “Heart 2 Heart,” shines a spotlight on the vital theme of mental health awareness. Through her music, she aspires to cultivate healing, tranquility, and hope amidst the storms of stress, a mission woven into every note she creates.
Her new song, “Burning Bridges,” serves as a powerful anthem about severing ties with toxic relationships and dismantling the labels that others unjustly impose upon us.
In August 2024, we constructed a bridge, inviting volunteers to inscribe the negative words that have sown seeds of insecurity within their hearts onto labels. Wearing these negative words as name tags, we transformed our pain into art, placing them upon the bridge in the music video. When the moment arrived, we ignited a fiery farewell, watching the remnants of those labels turn to ash.
What began as a music video blossomed into a passionate project, driven by Shekinah’s family, local sponsors, and the gifted videographer, “Brad Weier.” Together, they dare to believe in something truly extraordinary.
