Save the date!!! The Burk County Water SAR Exercise is set for October 8-10, 2026 at our new Regional Training Facility! This event will have a different look this year as we have removed the land search aspect and focusing solely upon "ALL THINGS WATER RELATED".
We are planning to expand into Sonar & ROV Operations scenarios for Surface Water ROV and Sonar Teams. We are incorporating advanced Swiftwater / Flood Rope Rescue Operations using aerial ladder short haul/long haul rigging, highline systems. We are also planning a night operations session on Friday, October 9th that will include wide-area, and other technical rescue problems.
We are also offering Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) ops as a part of the entire exercise.
This exercise is designed for existing state, Federal, or local water rescue assets looking to expand their skills sets under realistic training conditions.

Please look over the Training objectives provided for details on the exercise. We urge all teams or personnel to pre-register in NCTERMS. On-site college registration will occur upon check-in. Those needing task books signed off are encouraged to sign up early.
