Burien CERT - Basic Course - Fall 2026
About this Event
Join the Burien CERT - Basic Course!
The Community Emergency Response Team Program educates individuals in disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact our community. CERT training is for everyone. There is a job for everyone.
Training is open to those who live or work in the City of Burien.
- This is a 9 week course taking place each Wednesday beginning on 9/9/26 from 6pm to 9:30pm with the final drill taking place on Saturday 11/7/26.
- We ask those that enroll in this training commit to attending each day, and a CERT certficate of completion will be awarded upon completion of the training and final drill.
We train basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using the skills learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available.
