Join us at Burgunbarrel for an evening exploring the wonderful world of French wine!
For our first tasting in a new series of wine experiences, we're taking a little journey through Burgundy and beyond, discovering some of the grapes, regions, and traditions that make French wines so special.
From the elegant Chardonnay of Burgundy to the bright, fruit-forward reds of Beaujolais and other French wine regions, this tasting is all about finding something new to love in your glass.
Whether you're already familiar with French wines or simply curious about what makes them different, we'd love to have you join us.
🍇 Four Wines to Discover
Joseph Drouhin Mâcon-Villages — Burgundy, France
We'll explore a beautiful White Burgundy made from Chardonnay. Discover how the region, climate, and winemaking traditions influence the character of this classic French white wine.
Les Jamelles Chardonnay — France
A second expression of Chardonnay gives us the opportunity to compare two wines made from the same grape. How do they differ in aroma, texture, and flavor? Which one do you prefer?
Georges Duboeuf Gamay — Beaujolais, France
Next, we're heading into the wonderful world of Gamay! Known for its bright fruit, lively character, and approachable style, Beaujolais offers a delightful introduction to lighter French reds.
Les Jamelles Pinot Noir — France
We'll finish with Pinot Noir, one of Burgundy's most celebrated red grape varieties. Discover its delicate character, fruit notes, and how it compares with the Gamay you just tasted.
🥂 How Our Tastings Work
At Burgunbarrel, we like to keep wine tasting comfortable, welcoming, and just a little educational.
Your $25 ticket includes a tasting of all four featured wines, with approximately 2–3 ounces of each selection.
Our tasting runs from 5 PM until approximately 9 PM, so there's no need to rush over right after work or arrive at a specific starting time.
We'll introduce the wines as guests move through the tasting, sharing interesting details about the grapes, regions, and what makes each selection unique.
And because we know sometimes you find a favorite worth returning to, revisits are welcome while opened bottles remain available!
There's no formal presentation to sit through, no pressure to know anything about wine, and certainly no wrong answers when it comes to what you enjoy.
Just good wine, good conversation, and a cozy evening in Historic St. Andrews.
🍷 Make an Evening of It
Our full kitchen menu will be available throughout the tasting if you'd like to enjoy a charcuterie board, a few small plates, or something else delicious alongside your wines.
Food is available for separate purchase and is not included with admission.
Come on your own, bring a friend, or gather a few fellow wine lovers. Whether you stay for a quick exploration or settle in for the evening, we'd love to share these wines with you.
