Bunnell Arts by Air presents Hallie Jade at Bunnell Street Arts Center on Friday, July 17th, 2026 at 7pm. The concert is broadcast live on KBBI AM 890 with in-person tickets available at Bunnell. In-person audience must be seated by 6:45pm.
Hallie Ballou is an Americana singer-songwriter whose music blends raw storytelling, nostalgic lyricism, and emotionally honest songwriting. Her songs explore love, loss, motherhood, resilience, and the courage to begin again — pairing warm Americana textures with deeply personal storytelling.
Raised in Homer and mentored early on by Atz Kilcher, Hallie developed a deep respect for songs that tell the truth. After years spent raising her children and building a life beyond the stage, she returned to music with a renewed sense of purpose and perspective. Alongside her work as an artist, Hallie serves as the Songwriting Program Director at Idyllwild Arts Academy, where she mentors emerging young artists in songwriting, performance, and artistic identity. Her teaching philosophy centers around authenticity, emotional connection, and helping students find the courage to tell their own stories honestly through music.

Beginning as a Covid-relief program in 2020 to support musicians and community when concerts and gatherings were not possible, Bunnell Arts by Air features Alaska and visiting musicians, and is partially funded by the Alaska State Council on the Arts Community Arts Development grant, The Homer Foundation and a TourWest grant from Creative West .
The Bunnell Arts by Air program is presented in partnership with KBBI AM 890.
