Bump & Bloom is a collaborative experience is curated by maternal health leaders:

• Dr. Tracy Harpe, DNP - Academic Leader, Nurse, & CEO of The Scared Passage Alliance
• Dr. Melieka Young, DNP – Labor & Delivery Nurse & CEO of Thryvant 360 Maternal Wellness
• Mrs. Alexia Doumbouya, MSL – Doula, Public Health Leader & CEO of CocoLife.black

This citywide Maternal Health Expo designed to educate, empower, and resource new and expecting moms and birthing people while strengthening Philadelphia’s maternal health ecosystem.

Serving 75-100 families, the event blends evidence-based education, hands-on demonstrations, and direct access to healthcare systems, community providers, and benefits navigation in a culturally responsive, welcoming environment.

Together, these leaders bring academic rigor, clinical expertise, and community trust to advance maternal health equity and improve outcomes across Philadelphia and beyond.

Why Bump & Bloom Matters

Philadelphia continues to face persistent maternal health disparities, particularly for Black and underserved birthing people. Bump & Bloom addresses these challenges by:

• Advancing preventive, community-centered care
• Bridging health systems, health plans, and community-based providers
• Increasing understanding of Medicaid coverage, including doula benefits
• Strengthening trust, care navigation, and early intervention

What the Event Delivers

Participants will experience:

• Nutrition education and live healthy meal demonstrations
• Healthy movement demos for pregnancy and postpartum
• Childbirth and parenting education
• Meet the Midwife and clinician engagement stations
• Doula matching and Medicaid navigation, including education on covered benefits
• Health plan and healthcare system education
• On-site health screenings
