Peripeteia Theatre is delighted to return to The Kings Arms with a double bill of Kate McCloud’s work!Bump - Three men wait in a stark train station waiting room, tickets in hand, for the most life-changing journey they’ll ever take. They know where the train will take them, but not when it will arrive, or if they’re truly ready to board. Conversation drifts from sandwiches to salt flats, memories of first kisses to fears of the future, as different versions of masculinity collide. When a woman finally speaks, her voice reframes the waiting room entirely… “Slow and steady loses the race.”
Jackpot - Charlotte has won the lottery of life – an incredibly boring office job, a cat that doesn’t like her, and a life of inherited privilege. On a sweltering day on London’s Southbank she’s going about her own business, stealing a drink from Starbucks, when a single punch jolts her from her mundane, comfortable life into a world of fixation, desire, and blood lust. Jackpot.
