Bulgarian Cooking Class

In every corner of Bulgaria, you'll be greeted by the same smell of warm, buttery pastry layered with crumbled white cheese, drifting out of kitchens and into the street.

Ask any Bulgarian what their national dish is and nine times out of ten the answer is "banitsa", usually followed by a proud story about how their grandmother made the best one in the entire province.

In this class, you'll make your own version of it and share it together with the community. No experience needed, the dough is more forgiving than it looks, and the ingredients are simple and easy to find!

Alongside the banitsa, we'll make "shopska salad" — tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers, topped with white cheese. We'll also quench the thirst with a traditional "ayran", a cold yogurt drink that complements both dishes.
