(*In June of last year we held what we called a BAK or “Big @$$ Knife” seminar. This one is about self defense using folding “pocket” knives so that would be a LAK or “Little @$$ Knife”.😁)
This workshop is open to the public, not just Bujinkan members, and will focus on lessons over the years from its founder Masaaki Hatsumi on use of kakushibuki or small concealable weapons in our traditional Japanese arts, applied to use of folding knives commonly carried today. How to legally use weapons in a responsible way is an important aspect of self defense, and this will be addressed as well. If you have a “trainer” folding knife, great, bring it! If not, a 6-inch wooden dowel will suffice and we’ll have some on hand to use. There will be a 1-hr. lunch break from noon to 1 PM.
