About this Event

Wildfires are becoming an increasing concern across Washington—and the way we design and maintain our landscapes can make a critical difference.

Join us for “Building Wildfire Resilience”, an informative and engaging community event focused on practical, real-world strategies to help protect your home and property from wildfire risk. This session will explore how thoughtful landscaping choices—such as plant selection, spacing, and maintenance—can significantly reduce the likelihood of fire spread.

Led by Kirk Troberg, Community Wildfire Resilience Coordinator with the Washington Department of Natural Resources, this presentation will provide expert guidance on creating defensible space while still maintaining a beautiful and functional outdoor environment.

Participants will receive a valuable take-home resource: a Fire-Resistant Plants for Landscapes booklet, which includes plant recommendations and design considerations to support safer, more resilient landscapes.

Whether you're a homeowner, gardener, or community member interested in wildfire preparedness, this event will equip you with the tools and knowledge to take proactive steps toward safety and resilience.
Tickets at the door for $10.
