This will be a dynamic half-day event presented by Innovative Research Insights. Scheduled for November 16, 2024 from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM at the Paddison Memorial Branch Auditorium. The program is designed to equip local non-profit leaders with the tools they need to enhance their organizational effectiveness. The day includes insightful sessions on trauma-informed practices, grant writing (both foundations and federal grants), board development, and data visualization to convey impact. Participants will also have the opportunity to network with peers. - Paula J. McCoy is a veteran non-profit leader and community development specialist, currently directing the Partnership for Prosperity in Winston-Salem, NC, with over 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership and entrepreneurship through her consulting firm, McCoy Enterprises.
- Karon McKinney is an expert in trauma-informed practices and community advocacy, serving as the Strategic Housing Initiatives Program Officer at the United Way of Forsyth County, where she leads initiatives to address housing challenges and foster resilience.
- Ryan Jones Garner brings over a decade of experience in non-profit managent, grant writing, and community engagement, having secured over $1.5 million annually for nonprofit programs for the United Way.
- Sharon E. Nelson is a seasoned nonprofit consultant with over 30 years of experience in strategic planning, diversity, and inclusion, currently focusing on cross-sector engagement and equity in healthcare, social services, and economic development.
- Dr. Stephen J. Sills is a sociologist and researcher specializing in housing policy, economic development, and community-based participatory research, bringing extensive experience in program evaluation and strategic planning to non-profit organizations and public agencies across the country.
