A series of interactive workshops aimed at operational and strategic leadership in social care
About this Event

Practitioner-led research in social care is a priority for the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), which offers a range of development opportunities to help practitioners build their skills and knowledge. However, social care practitioners apply for these opportunities less frequently than health practitioners.

This interactive workshop, aimed at operational and strategic leadership in social care aims to explore why this might be, drawing on individual and organisational experience across adults and children’s social care. It will explore the organisational benefits of developing a research-minded and capable workforce, drawing on perspectives from across the sector, provide guidance and information about the funding and support available from the NIHR Academy and the Research Support Service and explore effective strategies for and barriers to involvement across the region. Building this understanding will help to develop recommendations for the NIHR on how to promote involvement and address barriers.
