Building Civic Engagement and Community In The Hour Of Chaos
About this Event
Building Civic Engagement and Community In The Hour Of Chaos with Allison Russell & Rep. Justin Jones Moderated by Ruby Amanfu
GRAMMY-winner, singer-songwriter, producer, author, actor, and human rights advocate Allison Russell joins activist, organizer, legislator, minister, environmentalist, and community leader Rep. Justin Jones in an inspiring conversation on how to find our tribe and serve our civic duty during tumultuous times. In the midst of alienation, targeting, and dread, how do we remain strong and create joy? What are the paths of optimism and hope that can light up even dark times? How do we find strength in ourselves and for our neighbors?
Brother Jones will share the issues that keeps his passion aflame. Sister Allison will delve into the themes of her forthcoming album In The Hour Of Chaos and discuss how Art provides sanctuary. And you can be part of the conversation as we will open the conversation to questions & answers from our NMAAM family that gathers. Join us for what is sure to be a celebration of joy during hard times that will give us all ideas of how to continue moving forward together.
The conversation will be moderated by Ruby Amanfu, a Ghana-born, Nashville-based songwriter, recording artist, and producer whose work spans pop, folk, R&B, and film.
