About this Event
Join Us for the Building Bridges Workshop: Strategies for Families Facing Substance Use
Are you looking for tools and strategies to better support a loved one struggling with substance use? Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to learn from one of the nation’s leading experts in family therapy and substance solutions!
We are excited to welcome Ken Carpenter, PhD, Director of Training for the CMC: Foundation for Change, as our keynote speaker. Dr. Carpenter is a licensed clinical psychologist and research scientist with more than 25 years of experience in developing and implementing evidence-based strategies to help individuals make meaningful lifestyle changes. He earned his degree from Hofstra University and completed advanced training at Columbia University.
Dr. Carpenter is renowned for his work with the Invitation to Change® (ITC) approach, an innovative method that integrates elements of Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This unique framework equips families with practical, compassionate tools to stay engaged and empowered while supporting their loved ones.
At this workshop, we will be looking closely at 2 or 3 of the Action Tools that are part of the Invitation to Change model and learning how to use those tools to bring about change in you and your family members.
