Building Better Homes: Surrey & Township of Langley Homebuilder Forum
About this Event
On the morning of Tuesday, September 8, 2026, the City of Surrey, Township of Langley, and ZEBx will host an educational and networking event open to all homebuilders working in Metro Vancouver. To start, the City of Surrey and the Township of Langley will present permitting data trends related to energy and emissions performance for new Part 9 buildings being built in the two municipalities. Following these presentations, Mark Bernhardt of Bernhardt Contracting, a leading homebuilder with projects throughout BC, will present the Builder's Visual Guide to BC Energy Step Code and Zero Carbon Step Codes recently published by BC Housing. The education session will be followed by a panel discussion with local Part 9 industry leaders that have successfully transitioned beyond the provincial minimums for energy and emissions requirements.
Thanks to the financial support of the City of Surrey, Township of Langley, and the Zero Emissions Innovation Centre, this event is free of charge.
