Building a writing life can often feel intimidating, especially for an international writer based outside the US/UK. Join author of 'The Original Daughter', Jemimah Wei, in this masterclass and learn about the processes involved in publishing internationally and demystify the elusiveness of being an internationally published author. What you can expect from this masterclass:
Learn about the different stages of writing a book — getting published in literary magazines, discovering and applying for opportunities, and querying agents
Tips on how to write a compelling cover / query letter — do’s and don’t’s, things to include, and agent querying strategies
Learn about the types of residencies, conferences, creative writing programs/MFAs, fellowships, and other opportunities that exist to support their writing careers
Participants can send in questions one week beforehand, to be addressed in the masterclass

Aout Jemimah Wei:
Jemimah Wei is the author of THE ORIGINAL DAUGHTER, forthcoming 2025 from Doubleday Books (US) and Weidenfeld & Nicolson (UK). She is a 2022-4 Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, a 2020 Felipe P. De Alba Fellow at Columbia University, and a Francine Ringold Award for New Writers honouree. Her fiction has won the William Van Dyke Short Story Prize and been published in Narrative, Guernica, and Nimrod, amongst others. She has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, recognized by the Best of the Net anthologies, and received scholarships from Singapore’s National Arts Council, Bread Loaf Writers Conference, Sewanee Writers Conference, and Columbia University, where she earned her MFA. / Follow her here
