Learn how to create a tabletop crevice garden for growing alpine plants in small spaces. This fun and educational lecture will be followed by an on-site garden walk.
Don't let a lack of space keep you from growing your favorite alpine treasures. Learn to mimic nature and build a tabletop crevice garden via a step-by-step demonstration. Kristine will cover container selection, material options, soil requirements, planting techniques and suitable plants all while building a micro alpine wonderland. A take home handout will provide additional resources and a list of the plants discussed.
Nature's variety keeps professional horticulturist Kristine Dillinger enraptured by plants. Currently the Horticulture Manager at Soos Creek Botanical Garden, Kristine has been selling, maintaining or educating the public about plants for the last 32 years, the last 13 of those in the public gardens of the South Sound. Kristine's formal horticulture training is from South Seattle College where the trees of the college's arboretum inspired her to acquire her ISA arborist credentials. A life lived outdoors, camping, birding and hiking the PNW has made Kristine a better gardener, seeing how plants grow in the wild.
