Instructor Bio:
Ashton Bird (b. 1990) is an installation artist and architectural designer whose work examines the fragility and resilience of our built environments, revealing the complex tensions between ambition, vulnerability, and political influence. A Master of Architecture candidate at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Bird combines fine arts and architectural design to create installations that critically reflect on how societal priorities impact spaces we inhabit. His work has been exhibited internationally at venues like the Atlanta Contemporary and Klauzál6 Projekt Galéria, supported by residencies funded by the Nexus Fund/Andy Warhol Foundation and the Municipality of Budapest. With a deep commitment to empowering artists, Bird is passionate about equipping them with the skills needed to navigate and challenge the political structures shaping life in the U.S. For full biography and artist statement visit Ashtonbird.com/about.
