About this Event

Building a Sustainable Idaho Nonprofit

Keynote presentation: “New Idahoan Research: Building community support, trust and philanthropic investment”

Kevin Bailey, Vice President for Impact and Nonprofit, Idaho Community Foundation

A new study reveals how your donors fit into four “personas”. Kevin’s presentation will give an overview of these personas and help you tailor an impactful message to each to drive better engagement.

You’ll receive a detailed toolkit for reaching each persona as a takeaway for the event.

More presentations for day will include:

-Your Nonprofit is a business: the nuts and bolts of nonprofit finance: from financial statements, budgeting, reserves, etc…

-The Billion Dollar Opportunity: Make giving as easy as possible with beneficiary designations, Qualified Charitable Distributions, securities gifts, trusts and endowments.

-Your Board is Not an Advisory Committee: Fiduciary duties, conflicts, board independence, bylaws, policies, Form 990 and board/Executive Director roles

-Lunch Panel: What Keeps Leaders Awake at Night? Some insight from other leaders like you.

You’ll also have the opportunity to network with other local nonprofit staff as well as individuals from the Idaho Community Foundation and the Magic Valley Estate Planning Council.

The Idaho Community Foundation helps Idaho thrive. The ICF distributes millions annually in grants and scholarships across the state. These awards are made possible by individuals, families, businesses, affiliates, giving circles and everyday Idahoans who care for their community.

The Magic Valley Estate Planning Council (“MVEPC”) allows like-minded professionals and charitable organizations to connect with each other. The MVEPC seeks to educate the community on estate planning best practices, updated laws, and other helpful information. Another important part of the MVEPC is to raise awareness of nonprofit organizations for charitably-minded individuals.

The council is made up of local attorneys, Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), financial advisors, banking professionals, and nonprofit leaders.

Registration and continental breakfast at 8:30. Program begins at 9:00. Lunch will be served.
