“I have learned in person from boatbuilders in three different geographic locations in the US, as well as studying boatbuilding techniques of the ancient world for my undergraduate work, taking techniques and knowledge from all. I hope this talk breaks some of the tribalism we hold in our maritime heritage pride and shows the possibilities open-mindedness can bring to such a dynamic and ever-changing industry.”
