đď¸ Senior members of the Society will be building in the Living Traditions Centre Wednesdays to Sundays throughout October from 10 AM to 4 PM*
*Times may vary depending on holidays and meal breaks. For groups or tours, If you are wanting to ensure their timing please email [email protected] or call the Museum ahead of time.
The Qajakkut Society is revitalizing the art of qajaq (kayak) making, sharing skills with Inuit youth and Elders and helping return this knowledge to regions where it has been forgotten.
Throughout October, the Qajakkut Society will build two examples of the south Baffinâstyle qajaqâa design traditional to the Iqaluit regionâ showcasing the living traditions we celebrate at the Museum.
âď¸ Next summer, campers and paddlers will be able to experience these traditional skin-on-frame kayaks on the water!
