Want to start using the laser cutter? This quick and friendly session is your chance to get badged and get cutting! You’ll learn how to safely operate MakeHaven’s laser cutters and complete the Laser Cutter badge—unlocking independent access. During the session, you’ll cut a small project (like a keychain or nameplate) to practice the full process from design to finish.

What to Expect
We’ll guide you through safe operation, basic troubleshooting, and how to prep your design using Inkscape—a free, open-source vector program. This isn’t a full design class—it’s a hands-on checkout session for members ready to learn the essentials and get access.
If you’re looking for more creative project time or in-depth design help, we recommend taking one of our full laser classes later on. This one is focused on getting you badged.�

• Safe and confident use of MakeHaven’s laser cutters
• Setting up and positioning materials
• Preparing basic files in Inkscape
• Starting, monitoring, and finishing a cut
• Troubleshooting common issues
