Rescheduled from this March: Bumble bees are the pandas of the insect world—charismatic, a little clumsy, and facing real conservation challenges. Michelle Toshack with the Xerces Society will explore the ecology of Montana’s bumble bees and share how community scientists are helping fill critical data gaps and guide conservation through the Montana Bumble Bee Atlas.Speaker Bio:
Michelle Toshack is a Livingston-based conservation biologist with the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, where she works with community scientists to conserve Montana’s wild bumble bees. She holds a master’s degree in pollination ecology and has spent her career building community-powered conservation programs across North America.
Date: Thursday, May 21st
Time: Doors open at 6:30 PM, speaker at 7:15 PM.
Cost: $15 for non-members / $12 for members
Be sure to get there when the doors open to give yourself ample time to explore the museum and Butterfly House before the lecture. Grab a beer, peruse the exhibits, and hold a bug or two at our Encounter Area!
Admission includes two complimentary beverages. Must be 21 or over for alcohol; non-alcoholic beverages are available.
