Buffalo Sons

Way back in 2017, three fun loving whiskey nerds, sitting at a bar and nursing their old fashioneds, began waxing poetic about the Austin music scene. Dissatisfied with the local bands belting out worn-out cover tunes, they decided to take matters into their own hands and form a new original rock band.

Excited at this prospect, the old fashioneds started flowing more freely and it was unanimously adopted that the new band would be called BUFFALO SONS after the Buffalo Trace bourbon found in their drinks.

Fusing their love of mainstream artists such as Hendrix, Cream and Zeppelin, they collectively found their unique sound of soulful alternative rock with hints of blues and country. By 2019 they released their first LP entitled Reincarnated - loaded with the tunes they honed performing in Austin’s local watering holes. It was recorded at Compound Studios and produced by Ken Tondre and is available across all digital music platforms.

In addition to regularly playing shows at local venues such as Cedar Street, The Granary, and Nomadic Outpost, BUFFALO SONS enjoys several residencies including the Speakeasy Austin and the private social club The Howard.
