CONGRESS - Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show comes to Lowestoft.
Told in songs, words and slideshow, hear the fascinating tale of how Buffalo Bill brought his spectacular Wild West Show to Lowestoft in 1903. Featuring the John Ward Trio and storyteller, Andy Jennings, this performance draws extracts from John’s book, songs from the album ‘Congress’ plus a talk and slideshow of historical photos about the life and times of Buffalo Bill and old Lowestoft. The show coincides with an exhibition of the original paintings by Gill Dove featured in the book, plus images of this fascinating part of forgotten history. The exhibition runs through September.
